Travelling to Balvi in a wheelchair

This time, our destination is the prize county in the Russian border area.

We'll start the tour with a visit to the deer garden's woodland.

In the vast and old oak-rich meadows of the Middle Ace of Pezia, which often overflows in spring, a deer-growing farm has been set up in the stubble region of SIA "Forest-sown area of approximately 200 ha. Forests are one of the first deer farms in Latvia and currently contain more than 300 animals purchased from all over the world – Ireland, Poland, Holland, Hungary and Lithuania. They are all breed animals. Roe and wild boar also live alongside deer in “woodland.”

Then, after the Pitstop pause in the Balvos, we will go to Vilnius, where we will visit the Vilnius Museum.

The Villac Museum enchants the ancient charm of its wooden finishes and collections. The museum has a White room, where portraits, religious objects and ancient books of a spiritual nature are displayed. The museum also features the memorial room of Bishop-waves K. Dulbinsky and V. Zondak.

The museum's collection is complemented by paintings gifted by artist-novice W. Boosh and N. Braksh. In the exhibition, the ancient tools and household objects are with an ancient aura, caused by the once-used objects placed together in the room - scalloped looms, wicker pushchairs, haystack, etc. Exhibitions – art, thematic, express exhibitions – are constantly organised in the museum.

Further down the road we will lead to Z/S Cotins in Squilbahn Parish.

The basic activity of Z/s Kotini is grain production with specialisation in seed production. One of the largest seed producers in the country. The area of land to be managed shall be 3000 ha, of which 2200 ha are high category certified seed fields. Grow wheat, barley, rapeseed, bean peas, oats and rye. Different foods are produced from the harvest obtained: pearl pearls (small, medium and large), peeled/broken beans and peas, wheat, barley, bean, pea flour, unrefined rape oil, etc. Almost all Cottage products have been recognised with the green spoon quality label!

Tours possible on the farm - Cottage specialists will tell the history of any cereal field, provide information about each bottle of rapeseed oil produced and bag of flour, show modern grain cleaning and seed production facilities. You'll see the latest agricultural machinery and high-yield volumes.

After the lunch break at the Rekova Mill, let's go to the center of the county - the Balvi, where we will be welcomed by the prize county museum.

Founded in 1989, the Awards County Museum is located in a reconstructed manor bracket. The museum's stockpile is made up of 25 thousand objects that describe the history, population, culture of the former prize district from the earliest days to the present day.
